Abstracts on topics that would advance solid waste and recycling in the world of climate change should be IMMEDIATELY submitted through the Conference web site at www.nyfederation.org.Solid waste and recycling professionals are looked to as a core group qualified to green up our governments, institutions, facilities and businesses, with the goal of making our communities more sustainable. Solid waste management has been evolving and improving over the last decade; but, moving forward, will new, successful technologies emerge, or will we refine existing ones? Topics for the 2010 conference are envisioned to include all things green: from engineering design to technologies to ultimate project management; sustainability; waste diversion; carbon offsets; environmental outreach and education; organics; deconstruction; landfill closure and post-closure; WTE alternative energy trends; regulatory and compliance concerns; special/hazardous waste management; legal, contracting and procurement issues and more!
