Technical Program

For the ninth consecutive year, the Federation of New York Solid Waste Associations Conference & Trade Show will be held at The Sagamore at Bolton Landing on Lake George, New York, from May 4 - 7, 2008. The program was mailed; but, if you did not receive it and would like the printed copy, please let us know, and we’ll get one in the mail [text box fill in with e-mail to go to Angela]???? 90 speakers make up the technical program with five (5) concurrent technical sessions throughout the 2-1/2 day conference. Besides solid waste and recycling topics, there are sessions on carbon credits, commerce and waste, nanotechnology, zero waste and even “scary stuff”! Along with the technical sessions, other highlights will be our second Art Show, regional breakfasts, and a plenary session on Greenhouse Gases. The Tuesday afternoon Suzanne D. LaLonde Institute topic will feature the Effect of Global Waste Management on Climate Change.

Green Team

Many of New York’s greenest people have said it is time to “practice what we preach” at our annual conference and trade show. Waste reduction and recycling in a large, transient venue presents similar challenges which are faced back home in community and sporting events and festivals. Our Trade Show is sold out (Thank You!); however, attendees love to hang out smelling the pines in the parking lot and kick the tires! Contact Linda Ochs if you are interested in showing off a piece of your equipment!


Accommodations

The Sagamore is already sold out on Monday night. If you hurry, there is still limited availability on Sunday and Tuesday nights.
